Set in delightful gardens within a wooded valley just over a
mile from New Quay, Tyddyn Hen is part of the historic Plas-Y-Wern Estate where The Earl of Richmond, later to become
Henry VII stayed in 1485 on his way to the Battle of Bosworth
Field.
Tyddyn Hen was originally built around 1270 and has original cruck
beams in the vaulted sitting room / kitchen / diner. Newly
renovated, Tyddyn Hen offers comfortable centrally heated accommodation for up to 8
people within easy reach of New Quay and the local beaches, being
closest to Cei Bach beach - see photo on our
'Beaches' page.
The cottage has three bedrooms, a double, a twin bedroom and
another with 2 sets of bunk beds. The bathroom has a bath with an electric
shower.
Oil central heating is included in the price and there is a
wood burning stove in the sitting room. Fuel for this can be
purchased locally. There is ample private parking, garden
furniture and a BBQ. Pets are welcome.
Tyddyn Hen is located just off the B4342 between New Quay and
Llanarth, and is just over half a mile from Cei Bach beach ( see Location
page ).
The Woodlands Holiday Park Bar and takeaway restaurant are just a
couple of minutes walk from the cottage.
