Approximate travel times by car are as
follows:
From London: 4hrs 30minute
From Cardiff: 2hrs
From Birmingham: 3hrs
Directions: If using M4 into Wales,
head for Carmarthen
Take the A484 to Newcastle Emlyn, turn through town by Cawdor
Garage until you go over a bridge. Go through mini
roundabout and turn left onto B 4333 to Aberporth. Continue on
this road until main coast road (A 487) and turn left towards

Travel for about 2 miles until you reach the village of

Continue down the driveway until you reach the farm and
cottages.
The local area
Whether you are looking for an activity break, rural pursuits or simply a relaxing time, there are numerous things to do and see within a short distance of Penlan Coastal Cottages.
Places to eat
Aberporth has the normal variety of beach cafes, pubs and hotels but also has an Italian restaurant and a very good Chinese Takeaway.
Traveling a little further afield to Cardigan, provides further choice in the way of Indian cuisine, both takeway and sit down. In the other direction, Newquay has a stunning Thai restaurant. Certainly enough variety to keep every member of the family happy.
Places to visit
There are a wealth of activities in the area ranging from all the water sports possible, to watching a play being enacted in the grounds of Cilgerran Castle, to learning about life in an iron age settlement. Below is a list of popular attractions.
West Wales All Terrain Centre, Welsh Bird of Prey Centre, Cardigans Coastal Farm Park,
Welsh Wildlife Centre
National Coracle Centre Cenarth, Newquay Honey Farm
Days out for the family could include:
Folly Farm Adventure Park, Oakwood (Wales largest theme park), Dyfed Shires and Leisure Farm
Historical locations include Cilgerran Castle and Castell Henllys , a reconstructed iron age settlement. Theatr Mwldan in Cardigan offers many events whether it be a film or an evening of musical entertainment.
