House History - The Faenog (Feinog) Estate dates from the
early 1700s when it was home to the Hughes family, who were
related to the Lewis family of Llanerchaeron - the National
Trust house near Aberaeron. Like many large houses in the
area, Faenog Mansion was pulled down in the late 1800s and
the present large farmhouse was built using much of the original
stone and timber. Some of the roof cruck beams from the old
house have been used in the construction of the present house
and can be seen in the sitting room, stairs and landing creating
an Arts and Crafts feature.
