The Local Area
Cenarth: Cenarth is a charming little
community straddling the river Teifi between Cardigan and
Newcastle Emlyn. Here, the River Teifi has made its way through
the hard rocks to produce a spectacular series of waterfalls.
The Teifi has always been famous
for its Salmon, and it is recorded that over one hundred Salmon
have been taken in a single morning as they attempted to leap the
falls on their way up river to spawn.

Cardigan Bay and its Beaches: Cenarth is 10 miles inland
from Cardigan along the River Teifi. From Cardigan, you can either
go south to the beaches of Pembrokeshire, or north to the beaches
of Cardiganshire which include, Mwnt, Tresaith, Aberporth, Penbryn
and New Quay. The nearest beaches are Mwnt and Poppit Sands.

The Nag's Head, Abercych - When you enter the pub the
rustic idyll is utterly complete -a 16th Century welsh stone and
wooden beam dominated bar and lounge with a vast array of Beer
Bottles from back in time and a coracle suspended from the ceiling
! They serve hand pulled local beers and the food attracts people
from the surrounding area as well as hikers and tourists. The
portions are hearty but that does not detract from the quality -
there's locally caught sea-trout and welsh lamb to be found
amongst the fresh produce. A really homely atmosphere ensures that
all are welcome.
